Project 01 · In development
Retirement
Research.
Help people prepare for retirement and understand how savings could support spending—with the assumptions and trade-offs in view.
Research first. Public tools next.
The project currently runs as a local research and household-planning system. Its public account service and signed mobile releases are not available yet. This page is an overview, not an interactive financial planner.
The questions
- How do income, costs, taxes, inflation and spending flexibility interact?
- What changes in bad markets or when the future differs from the past?
- When does added complexity provide enough benefit to justify its cost?
- How can other people reproduce the work and challenge the assumptions?
The approach
Compare strategies using spendable income and adverse outcomes, rather than historical returns alone. Keep the failed ideas, document reconstructed histories, and distinguish observed results from simulations.
The code and evidence belong to a separate research project. Its public repository and release links will be added here when available.
What to keep in mind
Backtests and simulations do not guarantee future income. Some fund histories are reconstructed, and the current US/California tax and benefit assumptions are simplified. Results from one model or household do not establish suitability for everyone.
